I handcrafted these delicate silver ammonites from silver clay to make a real statement dangling from the end of these silver hammered hoop earrings.

Ammonoids are extinct coiled shelled cephalopods, most closely related to our living octopus, squid and cuttlefish.

The name  ‘ammonite’, from which the scientific term is derived,  was inspired by the spiral shape of their fossilised shells, which somewhat resemble tightly coiled rams horns.

I love the natural spiral shape of the Ammonite which can be seen replicated so many times in nature.

These statement earrings are handcrafted from 1.5 mm silver wire, hammered to create the texture and sparkle of the sea and measure 6 cm from the top of the hoop to the bottom of the ammonite really creating that ‘wow’ factor.
